11th November, 09.30am onwards

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the cessation of hostilities in World War 1, a special service and march will take place on Sunday November 11th from St Mary’s Parish Church and the Landmark Arts Centre to the War Memorial in front of Teddington Memorial Hospital. As in previous years, the Teddington Society will participate.

At 9.30am, a short service for those participating in the parade will be held at the Landmark. Then, at 10.30am, the Landmark will host a “Come and Sing Fauré’s Requiem” workshop, open to any local singer who can read music. The Requiem, which lasts around 35 minutes and contains some of Fauré’s most beautiful melodies, will be performed at 5.30pm, together with poetry readings as part of Light Perpetual: Echoes of War.

Meanwhile, the Armistice Day service at Teddington War Memorial, in front of the hospital, will start at around 10.50am, following the parade along the High Street and Broad Street.
