• The 2019 Annual Lensbury Lecture – book now!

Thursday 28th February at 7.30pm

Deirdre Mills, Chief Executive of The Poppy Factory

We’re delighted to announce that this year’s Teddington Society Annual Lensbury Lecture will be presented by Deirdre Mills, Chief Executive of the Poppy Factory. The venue is the prestigious Lensbury Club in Broom Road, Teddington, on Thursday February 28th at 7.30pm for 8pm.

The Poppy Factory, based in Richmond since its foundation in 1922, produces 7.6 million Remembrance poppies every year, as well as 139,000 wreaths and 925,000 wooden Remembrance symbols. The Chief Executive’s Illustrated talk will outline the history of this remarkable national institution and will also look ahead to a future that is as important as its past.

Not only that, but Deirdre Mills will be bringing along some significant artefacts rarely seen by the public outside the Poppy Factory’s museum. After her talk, she will be answering questions.

“This will be a fascinating lecture” said Sheena Harold, Teddington Society Chairman, “and an opportunity to hear at first hand about the wonderful work done by the Poppy Factory throughout the country.”

Tickets for the event are £5, which includes a glass of wine or soft drink. Reserve your place by calling Sally Howland on 020 8977 9404 or email her: sally.howland@btinternet.com All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Poppy Factory.
