• "The Hidden Area of Teddington" – the Growth of Fulwell, 1870-1939

Tuesday 10th September at 7pm

As part of Richmond Council’s Know Your Place Festival, Chris French, Fulwell’s resident historian and author, will be giving an illustrated talk on the development of Fulwell before the Second World War – showing that there’s more to Fulwell than the Bus Garage!

In 1870 the Fulwell area was covered in fields, orchards, gravel pits and open spaces – but by 1939 it was covered in houses, shops and other buildings.

Chris’s talk will be on Tuesday 10th September at Twickenham Library between 7pm and 8.15pm. He will explore the spread of housing; the emergence of community facilities such as religious establishments, schools and shops; the people and families who lived in Fulwell;

Tickets are £5 if booked in advance via the Richmond Council website, or £6 on the door – but tickets on the door cannot be guaranteed.
