For obvious reasons, this year’s festivities were a muted affair. Gone were the road closures, the huge crowds, the entertainment stage and the pop-up stalls selling food, drink and presents. Even so, the spirit of Christmas this year was very much alive and well, as our photographer discovered on a walk from the Landmark to the Memorial Hospital. Brightly lit and beautifully decorated shop windows in the High Street and Broad Street really lifted the spirits, and were a credit to the town.
