• Teddington Library reopens with ‘click and collect’ service

As from today (6th July) local people can once again use Teddington Library’s ‘Click and Collect’ service for library books.

This popular service will now enable more library books to get safely into the hands of readers. From today, you can browse the library service’s online catalogue to choose your books.

As well as Teddington Library, the service will also be available from Hampton Hill, Richmond, Twickenham and Whitton libraries between 11am and 2pm Monday to Saturday.

Books should be reserved online and you will be notified when they’re available for collection. Anyone without internet access can telephone 020 8734 3330 and staff will place reservations for you. Lines are open between 10am and 4pm Monday to Saturday.

When you arrive at the library to collect your books, a social distancing queuing system will be in place outside, and staff will wear gloves and masks. When books are returned, they will be quarantined for 72 hours before being made available to another reader.

For anyone unable to travel to their library, online digital services continue to be available. Since lockdown, the number of people downloading a huge and diverse array of eBooks, eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines has increased by almost 300%.

• As part of the first phase of reopening, libraries will also be collecting small items of WEEE (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment) – things such as broken computer keyboards, toasters, radios, irons, hair straighteners and battery-powered toys. These can be left in special containers at each of the open libraries.
