'Come to the Window' - one of three original paintings donated to 'Save Our Stables' by local artist Kitty Wass

Kitty Wass, one of our leading local artists and a long-term member of the Teddington Society, has generously donated an original painting and five prints to the Park Lane Stables ‘Save Our Stables’ appeal.

The Stables are facing closure at the end of May unless they can raise £1 million to purchase the site’s lease from the landlord.

The First Prize, to be drawn on 27th February, is one of three paintings, worth up to £350. There will also be five runner-up prizes of a framed print, each worth £45, offered in order of the names drawn. All artworks are on display in the window of Sims Opticians in The Causeway.

To enter the prize draw, you have to donate to the Park Lane Stables appeal between now and 26th February via the Just Giving website only.

£10 will enter you into the draw once
£25 will enter you into the draw three times
£40 will enter you into the draw five times

Then email kitty.wass.52@gmail.com stating the donation amount and your name as it appears on the Just Giving site (so she can verify).

The draw, hosted by Sims Opticians, will take place on 27th February. The winners will be notified by email and prizes will be posted, or delivered by hand if you live locally.

• Kitty Wass graduated from Loughborough College of Art and Design with an honours degree in Printed Textile Design. In her early career she designed dress and furnishing fabrics for Liberty as well as for the Italian and American dress and furnishing markets. Subsequently she taught fine art textiles and photography before turning full time to painting and jewellery making.

Her global travels inspire her themes, and her own garden – always a highlight of the annual Teddington in Flower event – is a constant, though changing, resource. During this past year, her garden and her passion for gardening have been good friends to her work.

Kitty uses imagery drawn from her imagination, sketches, memories and photographs. She paints small jewel-like canvases with titles such as Mythology, Cold, Gardens, and Ecuadorean Hummingbirds. www.kittywass.co.uk
