He was born around 1886 at Acton, Middlesex but lived in the Richmond area for most of his life.

He taught for a time at Brentford, and in 1909 came to the Council School at Teddington as Assistant Master. He was a popular teacher and trained the football team which won the Schoolboy's Championship of Middlesex.

Killed in action during the Battalion's storming of the trenches at Zonnebeke on 25th April 1915 and was buried nearby.

Walter ("Wally") James Brown

Son of Edwin and Harriett Mary Ann Brown

Born around 1886 at Acton but lived in the Richmond area most of his life.
