George Harold Hearn
Son of William Joseph Hearn and Ellen Catherine Hearn née Oram of 66 Park Lane, Teddington
Born about March 1888 at Kingston, Surrey
Joined the British army around 1901, at the age of 14.
Band Corporal with the 10th Royal Hussars, with a War Office promise of early promotion to Honorary Lietenant or Quartermaster
In April 1915 he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for bringing in wounded men under heavy fire and received the medal at Kingston Barracks. He returned to France in August 1915 and was promoted to Lieutenant, 1st Battalion of the East Surrey Regiment.
Captured and died of his wounds as a Prisoner of War in German hands on 12th May 1917.
Buried at Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, France
