George Henry Robinson
Son of George Robinson and Mary Hannah Robinson née Wenham of 108 Bushy Park Road, Teddington
Born 22nd December 1880 at Teddington
Baptised 16th Jan 1881 at St Mary’s Church, Teddington
Joined the Royal Navy in 1897 aged 16 and spent six years on ships in the China seas.
Married Cecilia Frances Robinson Baines at St Philip the Apostle, Camberwell, Surrey on 31st December 1913
First Class Petty Officer (191846 ) on HMS Vanguard, a battleship, when it was blown-up by an internal explosion at Scapa Flow on 9th July 1917. He was one of 804 sailors killed in the accident, from which only three survived.
He was then 36 years old.
No known grave but the sea.
