Frank Cornick
Son of Mrs Cornick of 76 Princes Road, Upper Teddington.
Born in 1882 at Stanwell, he moved to Teddington with his mother when boy. Educated at Teddington Public School and member of St Peter and St Paul’s Church choir. He joined the Royal Marine Light Infantry and served for twelve years before joining the Orient Shipping Line as a steward. Made several journeys to Australia before he finally settled in Sydney, New South Wales in 1913. At the outbreak of WW1 he enlisted as Private with Australian Infantry, A.I.F., 18th Battn.
Died of wounds in France on 29th July 1916 from injuries sustained a few days earlier.
He was buried at Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Picardie, France, aged 34. (Plot: VII. A. 13)
