Stanley Francis Elsegood

Son of James Elsegood (1847–1924) and Mary Ann Willetts (1847–1878) of Camberwell

Born 9th April 1878 at Camberwell, Surrey

Married Martha Jane Duckett at St Stephen's Church, East Twickenham on 4th January 1902,

with whom he had six children between 1902 and 1914.

Lived at 15 Sunnyside Road, Teddington in 1910 and 5 Argyle Road, Teddington from 1911.

Electric Tram Car Conductor with the London United Tramways at Fulwell Depot.

Enlisted at Shepherd's Bush as Private (7185) with the Royal Fusiliers, 3rd Battalion.

Transferred as Sergeant (23483) with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales Own), 15th Battn.

In June 1915 he was featured in a fortnightly journal called "News from T.O.T.", where he reported

that he had seen several ex-Fulwell men serving at the front.

He died of wounds in France on 21st September 1916, aged 38.

Buried at Calais Southern Cemetery, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France (Plot E, Row 5, Grave 12)
