William Henry Hoddinott

Son of Ernest Walter Hoddinott and Amy Ann Hoddinott née Smith

Born about December 1895 at Isleworth (Birth registered as Henry William Hoddinott)

Enlisted in 1912, while in Devon learning farming, and upon start of war he joined

the Devonshire Regiment, 1st Battn as Private (9787)

He returned home in February 1915 with frozen feet and was treated at King's College Hospital.

He was then returned to France, and was there for around three weeks before being hit by a shell

splinter and killed at Zillebeke on 1st May 1915, aged 19.


He was buried, along with three comrades, at Larch Wood Cemetery, West Flanders, Belgium (Plot: I. F. 12)
