Geoffrey Phillips Mead
Son of John Phillips Mead and Maud Helen Kate Mead née Church of Park Road, Teddington.
Born 28th October 1892 at Brompton, Middlesex
Educated at Street Court (Westgate-on-Sea) and Charterhouse (Godalming, Surrey)
Served with the Egyptian Government (Survey Department) from 1912 to 1914.
Corporal (54268), Motor Cyclist Despatch Rider, Royal Engineers, 32nd Signal Company
Died of enteric fever and pneumonia at No.15 General Hospital, Alexandria, Egypt on 2nd December 1915
Buried at Alexandria (Chatby) Military Cemetery, Alexandria, Al Iskandariyah, Egypt, aged 23 years

Following his death, and of his brother, Christopher Phillips Mead, their mother Mrs Maud Mead was a moving force behind the idea to build both a war memorial and a war memorial hospital in Teddington.
