Working as a butcher when he enlisted into the British Army in 1908 (as Harold William Bray)
Served in India from January 1911 to November 1914, he then joined the B.E.F. in France
Acting Cpl (L/12339) with the Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge’s Own), 4th Battn.
Killed in action at Ypres in France on 29th September 1915, aged 25
