David Wishart Hanna

Son of James Wishart Hanna and Jean Cockburn Hanna née Dick

Born 19th December 1890 at Fulham, Middlesex

He lived with his family at ‘Claremont’, Parson’s Green, Middlesex

A clerk at a London branch of Parr’s Bank and transferred to its Teddington branch..

2nd Lt.(Tp) with Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) and Lieutenant with Middlesex Regiment, 8th Battn.

He was recovering from a wound he received during action which resulted in being awarded the Military Cross when he had a motoring accident at Shornclife and died at Helena Hospital, Shornclife, Kent on 24th June 1916, aged 25

Buried 30 June 1916 at Fulham New Cemetery (East Sheen) (Grave BC.184)

Listed on NatWest Bank War Memorial, High Street, Teddington

This memorial was moved in 2018 to NatWest Bank in Twickenham following the closure of the Teddington Branch.
