John Dowson Brooks

Son of John Dowson Brooks (1850-1933) and Mary Ann Brooks née Hughes (1852-1900)

Husband of Florence Christina Brooks née Fletcher of 12 Lindum Road, Teddington

Born about September 1878 at Brentford, Middlesex

Coachman and chauffeur to Dr P. Langdon Down J.P. of Dixland, Kingston Road, Teddington

for ten years prior to his enlistment on 3rd May 1915 and was sent to France one week later

as Private (M2/081580) (Motor Transport Driver), Army Service Corps, 8th Div. Supply Col.

Accidentally killed on active service in France on 13th February 1918.

Buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge, West Flanders, Belgium Grave Ref: XXVII. FF. 20A
