Charles James Dawson

Son of Thomas Dawson and Helen Julia Dawson née Hayes 

Born 7th October 1887 at Teddington

Lived at 7 Albert Terrace, 14 Kings Road, Teddington

Educated at Hampton Hill Boys School

Emigrated to Canada in 1915 and employed as a checker with Canadian Pacific Railway.

Enlisted as Private (434866) with the Canadian Infantry, Alberta Regiment, 50th Battn.

Wounded at Vimy Ridge in February 1917.

Killed in action as a result of an explosion on 28th September 1918, aged 30

Buried at Haynecourt British Cemetery, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France (Grave Ref: II.A.11)
