Taken prisoner in the Merville Sector and whilst a POW in German hands he had a leg amputated.
Died of his wounds on 3rd September 1918, aged 24
Buried at Lille Southern Cemetery, Lille, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France (Grave III C.33)
