Baptised 17th May 1892 at All Saints Church, Leyton, Essex
He received his degree and teaching diploma from London University and became a history teacher at St Albans School, Hertfordshire in 1915
He was employed as a teacher of English and History at Kingston Grammar School from September 1916
Lived at 38 Holmesdale Road, Teddington, Middlesex
He appealed against his conscription but was called up and served as Private (767315) with the 2nd/28th Battn, London Regiment (Artists' Rifles)
Died 11th November 1918 from influenza while convalescing at the Military War Hospital at Roundhay, Leeds, Yorkshire
Buried November 1918 at St Andrew's Churchyard, Ansford, Somerset (The only CWGC grave in the churchyard)
