1970s TeddSoc report by Mrs E.D. Bromley:  "Royal Road runs between [[King's Road]] and [[Anlaby Road]]. It showed no houses on the 1863 OS map but on the 1893 OS map there are 6 detached houses on the south side of the road and terraced houses on the north side. By 2014 more of the detached houses have been demolished and replaced with several smaller dwellings. No. 21 is one of the original houses but almost certainly no. 23 (see note on no. 23) and possibly also nos. 17-19 have replaced former large houses designated as BTMs."
