Road: Albert Road, Teddington
Property: 7
This relatively early Victorian house, built between 1855 and 1860, is plain and double-fronted. Formerly called Rose Cottage it may have been actually occupied for some years in the late 1800s as "maisonettes" i.e. 2 flats, according to the census. It was a detached house for a while, adjoining the slightly earlier (listed) Alma Cottage at no. 5, before the remainder of the north side of Albert Road was developed. It has clearly been extended a number of times, probably starting as a '2-up, 2 down'; some outbuildings were replaced by a single-storey rear extension in the 1980s, after extensive repair and restoration of the main house.
