The house has been known as ''Bradden Villa'' and then as ''Portland Lodge'' and is shown on the 1863/4 Ordnance Survey map.    It is a mid-Victorian stuccoed villa with a centrally placed front door and porch.  It has sash windows and there are iron railings on the window cills.  The front boundary is marked with ornamental railings.  The house is in poor repair.  The two garages and what appears to have been a studio above have been built on to the left hand side of the house, some time in the 1950s or 1960s, which are out of character with the older house.
