Property: 157a, "Woodlawn"
Woodlawn was built in 1896 and the first occupier was a Mr Algernon Frampton. I was told that he was a member of the Austin Motor family and this was built as his 'country house' – soon after the development of the railway line to Teddington. The house still has its original features — lovely staircase, ceilings and an impressive porch.
"Original entrance to no. 157 has elaborately carved columns and decorative gabled porch." (TeddSoc 1973 Survey)
