39 Fairfax Road

Road: Fairfax Road

Property: 39

This property is being almost entirely rebuilt - see front elevation per Planning submission.

39 Fairfax Road – forms a pair with no. 37, and is of very similar design, with the same fenestration, hipped roof, and eaves brackets, but with a different porch design, and has ridge tiles and (possibly original) timber sashes.

37 Fairfax – A double-fronted detached house, pebble dashed with a shallow hipped slate roof; the front elevation has a rectangular bay window on the left side which has a small lean-to slate roof. The bay is blind to the side elevations and has 2 rather unusual, narrow, full-height lights on either side of the central sash window. The central doorway has a porch with a pitched roof, and on the right hand side of the elevation there is a similar design of window to the bay window but which is flush with the front wall; it appears that replacements have been made to the original sash windows. There are paired brackets along the eaves. The house is extended to the rear and the rear elevation is rendered; chimneystacks of red and yellow stock brick – presumably largely original – have not been pebble-dashed.
