High Street 19, "Royal Mail"

Road: High Street, Teddington
Property: 19, "Royal Mail"
This is a substantial building on the corner of the High Street and Elmfield Avenue. It was formerly the main Post Office in Teddington but the main entrance on the High Street is now closed (2013) and only a small office entered on Elmfield Avenue is open to the public for parcel collections. The building has 2-storeys and is of dark red brick with rubbed brick window surrounds. It is very similar to the NatWest Bank building on the opposite corner of the High Street (no. 6) and it is probable that it was built at the same time, around 1909.
